The veterinarians at South Trail Animal Hospital follow an approved vaccination schedule that will keep your dog protected from harmful diseases and decrease the risks associated with over-vaccination. The schedule we recommend is as follows:

DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus)
   - Given initially at 6 weeks of age
   - Then boostered  at 9 weeks of age

DAP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus)
   - Given initially at 12 weeks of age
   - Then boostered at 16 weeks
   - Given every 3 years thereafter
   - If the first vaccine is given at age 16 weeks or older, a booster needs to be given in 3 - 4 weeks.

Rabies
   - Given initially at 12 weeks of age
   - Then boostered at 15 months (about one year from when Rabies was initially given)
   - Given every 3 years thereafter

Parvovirus
   - Given initially as part of the DHPP series, but a booster is recommended at 20 weeks of age in        certain breeds that are more susceptible to the disease.

Bordetella
   - Given initially as early as 8 weeks of age
   - Given annually thereafter

Lyme
Please remember to speak to your veterinarian about this vaccine, as it is generally only given to patients considered "at risk" for this disease
   - given initially at 12 weeks of age
   - Then boostered in 2 - 3 weeks
   - Given annually thereafter
